My obsession with denim started in second grade with my first pair of Guess jeans that zipped at the ankle. It was 1986, small-town Oklahoma, and I was immediately hooked.

In 2020, the pandemic brought unexpected change to my life — as it did for many of us. But it also gave me the opportunity to think differently about how I wanted to spend my time moving forward. With more intention — doing something I was truly passionate about. I also became a first time mom at 42 and wanted the flexibility to spend time with my daughter, Layla. So it was then that Jean Genie Vintage Co. was born.

My longtime frustration with trying to buy vintage Levi’s online, with the consistently inconsistent sizing began to consume my time sheltering in place, and eventually led me to create a platform to help others successfully find their dream vintage denim online. And what started as a side hustle quickly became a full-time pursuit, thanks to my incredible customers.

I’ve built Jean Genie Vintage around my love of sourcing exceptional true vintage USA made Levi’s, with an obsessive attention to the details that make each pair special. I hand pick each pair one-by-one, no bulk buying here. And each pair must pass that “something special” test. I want you to put them on and get that same surge of confidence I got with those 1986 Guess jeans. The success is in the fit philosophy, based on actual measurements — not the number on the tag.

And the name? I’m a lifelong David Bowie fan. In 2009, I almost opened a denim bar called The Jean Genie. But life at that time had other plans.

Turns out, I was just too early.
